NBA Star James Harden's Girlfriend Caught the Bouquet at Friend’s Wedding

The Los Angeles Clippers guard's face was a mix of shock and terror in the now-viral, hilarious video.

James Harden appeared noticeably stressed at a recent wedding of a friend.

The NBA star has gone viral for his humorous reaction to his girlfriend catching the bride's bouquet over the weekend. In a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), a group of wedding guests gathered behind the bride as she tossed the bouquet amid cheers and applause.

The bouquet landed on the floor in the back of the crowd, where a woman in a black dress bent down to retrieve it. The camera then panned to show Harden, 34, in a black suit standing beside her. While the woman — his girlfriend Paije Speights — expressed excitement, Harden, a guard for the Los Angeles Clippers, wore a notably unamused expression.

He stood rigidly, staring straight ahead without blinking or speaking, even as Speights hugged him while holding the bouquet.

Fans quickly reacted to the awkward moment in the comments, calling it an "instant meme."

"Bro looks genuinely terrified," one person commented.

"That's when he should have played defense," another joked, while a third added, "My man thought he was safe in the back."

One fan even suggested, "He’s probably drafting prenuptial agreements in his head."

According to Vibe, the wedding was that of retired NBA player Rajon Rondo and his wife Latoia Fitzgerald.

Harden is currently taking advantage of the offseason after the Clippers were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by the Dallas Mavericks on May 3. The athlete, who won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA at the 2012 London Summer Games, joined the Clippers in November following a year with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Last year, Harden grabbed headlines with his wine-selling success. During a livestream in August hosted by online personality Crazy Brother Yang in China, the basketball player sold 16,000 bottles of his J-Harden wine almost instantly.

Over 15 million viewers reportedly watched the livestream, and Harden’s excitement was evident as he saw the rapid sales. At one point, upon discovering that 5,000 orders (for two bottles each) had been placed, he laughed, applauded, and repeatedly told the audience, "I love you."

Shortly after, another 6,000 bottles were sold, leading Harden to celebrate with a cartwheel.
